This collection contains newspapers and newspaper clippings about World War II Japanese American veterans. There are also many loose photographs of post World War II activities, particularly the creation of the monument and veteran reunions. There is also a scrapbook created by Henry Ikemoto with photos from his time in Korea during the Korean War with the 25th Infantry Division.

Scope and content:

This collection contains newspapers and newspaper clippings about World War II Japanese American veterans. There are also many loose photographs of post World War II activities, particularly the creation of the monument and veteran reunions. There is also a scrapbook created by Henry Ikemoto with photos from his time in Korea during the Korean War with the 25th Infantry Division.

Henry served in WW II in the MIS and in the Korea War with the 25th Infantry Division with the Turkish Brigade. The scanned scrapbook photos are mostly from his training and camp life.

Biographical / historical:

Henry Ikemoto was born November 15, 1923 in Stockton, California. He served in World War II in the 100th Infantry Divison with the Military Intelligence Service. He also served in the Korean War with the 25th Infantry Division with the Turkish Brigade from 1951-1952. When he returned from service he was a Probation Officer in Los Angeles. He passed away December 2, 2009.
