Papers belonging to Canadian poet Bliss Carman.
Background
Bliss Carman (1861-1929) was a regional poet of both the Maritime Provinces, where he was born, and the New England area of
the United States, where he passed away. Between 1893 and 1905, Carman published almost twenty volumes of verse, some of which
were a collaborative effort with Richard Hovey (1864-1900). Carman also wrote prose works on various subjects and, from 1890
onwards, worked as an editor for numerous journals in New York City.
