Description
The Raymond A. Bankowski Papers include research notes, laboratory and pathology data, reports, reprints, awards, correspondence, and slides related to Ray Bankowski's work in infectious disease in poultry and swine.
Background
Raymond A. Bankowski (1914-1993) was Professor of Virology at UC Davis. Dr. Bankowski earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1938 and subsequently began post-graduate research at UC Berkeley. During World War II, Dr. Bankowski left Berkeley to serve in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. After the war, he returned to Berkeley and completed a Ph.D. in comparative pathology.
