    Biography

    Howard Strickling was a film publicist and a longtime publicity director for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He was active from the 1920s to 1960s.

    The Howard Strickling papers span the years 1913-1972 and encompass approximately 3 linear feet. The most significant item is the ?.J. Mannix ledger,?so called because the name of MGM? long-serving general manager is embossed on the cover. This volume contains financial information on virtually every MGM release from 1924 through 1962. A copy of the ledger is available for perusal at the Reference Desk.
