    Artifacts and artwork from Fridolin W. Heer, M.D., as well as Heer's medical drawings, photographs and biographical material.

    Biographical / Historical

    Fridolin William Heer, M.D. graduated from the school of medicine at UCSF in 1956. Heer served his internship at San Francisco General and residency at UCSF.
    Heer practiced General Surgery at several San Francisco hospitals, and served as Chief of Surgery at Ralph K. Davies and St. Luke's and as Chief of Staff at Davies. He was a member of the San Francisco Medical Society and the California Medical Assc., and served as President of the San Francisco Surgical Society, the Nafziger Society, the California Academy of Medicine, and the Pacific Coast Surgical Association. He also served on the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons. At UCSF Medical School, he was long involved in the training of surgical residents and upon retiring was named Distinguished Clinical Professor Emeritus.
