Description
The Marta Palau prints, correspondence, and ephemera consist of a set of screen prints by Marta Palau (1934-2022), correspondence
from Palau to Evelyn Vedro, ephemera relating to Palau's works and exhibitions, and a small amount of photographs. The set
of screen prints, titled Un Homenaje Artistico a Lázaro Cárdenas, was originally exhibited at the Museo de Arte Moderno, Bosque de Chapultepec, Mexico, D.F., in 1981. The thirteen serigraphs
by artist Marta Palau, accompanied by thirteen texts by Palau's friends, pay tribute to Lázaro Cárdenas, who served as president
of Mexico from 1934 to 1940. The USC Libraries purchased the collection from Bolerium Books, but the material previously belonged
to Evelyn Vedro (1922-2011), who was a close friend of Marta Palau.
