Background
Filipino American Sam Tagatac (1939-2021) was a filmmaker, poet, writer, and artist who grew up in Santa Barbara, California.
Tagatac graduated from the California State University at San Francisco (SFSU) with a B.A. and M.A. in film. He taught film
in the Asian American Studies Department at SFSU, and attended the University of California, Los Angeles.
