Biographical / Historical
Carroll Thomas Blanck served with the Signal Corps beginning in 1917. He was awarded the
Army Distinguished Service Medal on his 35th birthday, 29 November 1921, "for exceptionally
meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of
great responsibility during World War I, in connection with the control and operation of the
telephone and telegraph service of the American Expeditionary Forces." (
