    Scope and Contents

    This collection consists of nineteen issues of Kokusai Shashin Joho – "The International Graphic" Magazine from 1927-1931. Kokusai Shashin Joho, first published in 1922, documents current event photography in Japan and around the world. Each issue consists of photography, art prints, and larger fold-out prints. Included in one of the issues is the "Enthronement Pictorial Special Number" documenting Emperor Hirohito's ascension to the throne. Collection is mostly in Japanese, with some English captions.

    Immediate Source of Acquisition

    Donated by Naomi Moy. Vol. 7 issues 2-7, 11 acquired by the Gerth Archives and Special Collections in 2024.
