Description
The small collection contains materials from John H. Helwig related to a mining claim for the Jennie Lind Placer Mine in North Bloomfield, California in the late twentieth century.
Background
John Henry Helwig was born in Germany. He arrived in California in 1849 and after mining for several years, he engaged in the wholesale meat business in North Bloomfield, California. John Helwig passed away in 1909.
