Abstract: Elizabeth Byron was a New York based journalist and editor in the field of art and architecture and a great-great-grandchild
of Alexander II of Russia. Includes family correspondence, genealogical material regarding the Russian imperial family, photographs,
portraits, miniatures, and a Decembrist ring belonging to Prince Sergei Petrovich Trubetskoy.

Biographical Note
Byron was born Elizaveta Vladimirovna Sverbeyeva (August 28, 1923) in Berlin. She was also known as Elizabeth Sverbeyeff Byron
and was a great-great-grandchild of Alexander II of Russia. Byron was a New York-based journalist and editor in the field
of art and architecture. She died April 1, 2020.
Scope and Content of Collection
The Elizabeth Byron papers consists of documentation of the genealogy and history of the Russian imperial family, correspondence,
notes, and clippings. Includes original and copy photographs of Byron's family, miniature portraits of Elizabeth von Reutern,
poet Vasily Andreyevich Zhukovsky, Prince A.P. Zhukovsky, Grand Duke Nikolai Alexandrovitch, and Basile de Reutern. Also
includes a Decembrist ring belonging to Prince Sergei Troubetskoy.
