Description
In 1958, the Northridge Civic
Association was established to watch over development and preservation of the community. The
organization became involved in numerous zoning and growth control issues. The records of
the Northridge Civic Association document the organization's interests in local development,
land use, and quality of life concerns, especially zone changes and street widening. The
views of the group are officially represented in testimonies presented during public
hearings before the Los Angeles City Planning Department and the City Council.
Background
