This collection consists of papers, speeches, and memorabilia of James Zumberge, former president of the University of Southern
California (1980-1991).
Background
James Zumberge (1923-1992) was a professor of geology and ninth president of the University of Southern California from 1980
to 1991. Zumberge instituted a revenue-center management system while president of USC, where individual schools and units
were responsible for their own revenue and expenses.
