Description
Haviside Company records (SAFR 17401, HDC 265) consists of five order books that list when and what repairs were done on various vessels and one scrapbook containing mostly newsclippings and some personal items from H.T. and J.J. Haviside. These materials date from 1908 to 1954. The Haviside Company was involved in sail-making and ship chandlery. One of the order books lists an order for a hatch cover for the C.A. THAYER. The collection is available for research use without restriction.

Expanding in the late 1920s, the firm, by 1930, included a ship chandlery and supplies division, rigging and sail-making division, and a derek barge and salvaging division.
