    Processing of the Wendy Slatkin papers was completed by undergraduate students from the University of California, Riverside as part of the Special Collections & University Archives Backlog Processing Project started in 2015. This project was funded by the UCR Library and administered by Jessica Geiser, Collections Management Librarian.

    Biographical Note

    Dr. Wendy Slatkin is an art historian and former faculty member of the UC Riverside art history department. Slatkin received her PhD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in the field of late 19th and 20th century French Painting and Sculpture, and is a nationally recognized expert in the field of gender studies.
    She has written multiple textbooks on women artists, most notably Women Artists in History:From Antiquity to the Present, which was first published in 1985 and is currently in its 4th edition.

    This collection consists of materials related to former UC Riverside art history professor Wendy Slatkin's textbook, Women Artists in History: From Antiquity to the Present, first published in 1985. Items in the collection include rough and blueline mock-ups of the page layouts with edits, as well as oversized page proofs.
