The collection contains computer files of newsletters, photographs, flyers, programs, and
other promotional and educational materials from events at the center, 2009 to 2017.
Background
The Markaz: Resource Center for Engagement with the Cultures and Peoples of the Muslin
World was established in 2013, and is located in the Nitery Building of Old Union. The
center serves the community that identifies or has an interest in Islamic culture, the
Muslim world, global Muslim communities and non-Muslim minorities within the Muslim world.
The Markaz is affiliated with numerous Volunteer Student Organizations, including the Arab
Students Associuation at Stanford, Stanford Students for Justice in Palestine, the Muslim
Student Union, and others.
Restrictions
While University Archives is the owner of the physical and/or digital items, permission to
examine collection materials is not an authorization to publish. These materials are made
available for use in research, teaching, and private study. Any transmission or reproduction
beyond that allowed by fair use requires permission from the owners of rights, heir(s) or
assigns.
Availability
Materials are open for research use. Audio-visual materials are not available in original
format, and must be reformatted to a digital use copy.
