Description
The Dennis Richards papers contain materials related to his work as a neighborhood activist and preservationist. Richards
was president of the Friends of 1800, a group of preservationists who successfully fought to save the Fallon Building, which
was slated to be demolished to build the LGBT Community Center. The bulk of the collection contains materials related to that
fight, including administrative records, board meeting minutes, correspondence, directories, e-mails, financial records, flyers
and other ephemera, materials about the Fallon Building, newsclippings, preservation reports and materials from the LGBT Community
Center, such as a grand opening program and a Naming Opportunities packet.
