    Scope and Contents

    The American Indian Education Committee Reference Materials includes flyers and booklets with information about and distributed by the Los Angeles Unified School District's American Indian Education Commission, as well as the American Indian Resource Center.
    Flyers also include "Teaching About the Reference to Indians in the Declaration of Independence," "Unlearning 'Indian' Stereotypes," "American Indian Films in Los Angeles County Public Library," and "Indian Values, Attitudes, and Behaviors, Together with Educational Considerations."
    There is also a bibliography on American Indian Literature, National Advisory Council on Indian Education legislative directory, publication excerpts from the Racism and Sexism Resource Center for Education, Navajo Code Talkers flyer by the Arizona Bicentennial Commission, and a resource list of individuals with knowledge on "Cultures of the Americas," compiled by Maria Marabel and Yolanda Galvan of the Southwest Museum.
