Biographical Note
Charles N. Fifer earned his BA and MA at Northwestern University and his Ph.D. (1954) at Yale. He taught at Lawrence College
and the University of Illinois before joining the faculty in the Department of English at Stanford University in 1956.
Scope and Contents
Collection consists of materials related to the Stanford English Department, including the Cliveden campus (part of the Bing
Overseas Studies Program), and correspondence with other English department faculty members. Also included is the two volume
