Description
The Heartland Creative Community Association is a community organization formed in 1973 from earlier efforts in El Cajon,
California to promote cultural growth, connectedness and programming in East San Diego County. Initial activities were sponsored
jointly with the Women’s Committee of the Grossmont Community Concert Association and the Grossmont College’s Office of Community
Service. The Association worked in the fields of the arts, the humanities and public service to promote greater participation
in and contributions to all those people-influenced areas and was active in this organizational configuration from 1973-1987.
Collection consists of three scrapbooks and two publications.

California to promote cultural growth, connectedness and programming in East San Diego County. Initial activities were sponsored
jointly with the Women’s Committee of the Grossmont Community Concert Association and the Grossmont College’s Office of Community
Service. The Association worked in the fields of the arts, the humanities and public service to promote greater participation
in and contributions to all those people-influenced areas. The association continued a wide range of community-based cultural
activities until it a proposed reorganization was proposed at a meeting on April 20. 1987. The collection concludes with a
final membership meeting program from April 23, 1988.
