Correspondence, reports, memoranda, and office files from Robert Murphy's years as President Franklin D. Roosevelt's special envoy to French North Africa and political adviser to General Dwight D. Eisenhower in the Allied Force Headquarters, Algiers and Caserta; arranged by form or function. This series also contains files from Murphy's appointment with the Allied mission with General P.A. Mason Macfarlane and as a member of the American delegation to the Malta Conference, the Casablanca Conference, the Cairo Conference and the Teheran Conference. In 1943, Murphy was also appointed to serve on the Allied Advisory Council for Italian and Balkan Affairs.
