Hon. Congressman Augustus Hawkins,
House Office Bldg.
Washington 25, D.C.

Dear Mr. Hawkins,

My sister and I live in our ten acre orange grove in which I work too at times. The braceros pick our fruit—packing house managers transport them back and forth. They live in unoccupied old schools or other buildings and when they have finished the crops they return to their families. If your congressmen would want to bring in on us whole families, they'll stay here forever and we'll have to support them when they'll be out of a job. You as a Californian are aware of the fact that we are too liberal with our relief and hence we support many people from other states. Please give us the braceros for another year. Thank you!

Respectfully yours,
(Mrs.) Marie K. Mueller
