Caption: Some Items of Yesteryear. Contrary to popular belief there were more inhabitants along this stretch of coastline at the begining [sic] of the century than there are now. Thus, for instance, there was a thriving settlement in Bixby (then known as Mill) Creek, as picture on these pages. There were a number of homesteads and a Summer Resort on the Little Sur River. There were saw-mills, tan bark oprations [sic] as well as lime kilns in various canyons. And finally there was a good sized mining town in the Los Burros district.
