Information included with the large print: "Dr. Merritt, (with beard in background), was skeptical about chartering his beautiful yacht to an "literary" character whom he had never met. But when Robert Louis Stevenson (right) arrived, his charm and gentle manner won over the yacht owner. Merritt insisted, nevertheless, that his own captain go along -- Stevenson later put Captain Otis in a novel."
