ADMINISTRATION LETTER--Reproduced above is the letter and loyalty oath which it is understood the University is sending to faculty members and employees. President Sproul's letter requests return of the oath by Oct. 1. When the academic senate convenes next Monday, however, a number of faculty members are expected to express opposition to the use of the oath. The article below, which appeared as an editorial, "Here is Their Case," in the summer Californian of Aug. 26, is being reprinted as an explanation of a point of view which opponents of the oath may be expected to take:
