Includes a state of California letters patent issued to Heeser on November 29, 1871 for 30/100's of an acre of tide lands in Mendocino County. The letters patent has a gold paper seal of California affixed and is signed by the governor of California, Henry H. Haight. Other miscellaneous materials include correspondence, a drawing book of Mary Ann [Mamie] Nelson with pencil sketches of buildings, flowers, and butterflies, and a pictorial baptismal certificate (35.5 x 28 cm) of Augustus Alfred Heeser, William Heeser's son, from the First Presbyterian Church, Mendocino, California, signed by Pastor James L.
