Collection of 19 Spanish manuscript documents, featuring several apparently unpublished treatises by noted 18th cent. writers,
as well as numerous anonymous works on interesting topics. Includes the ideas of Andres Marcos Burriel, who was archivist
for the city of Toledo, on what types of archival material are most important for Spanish history, plus a list of books from
part of Burriel's archival records, and Fr. Martín Sarmiento's program of learning for the self-taught man. Among the anonymous
manuscripts, two concern bibliography, several involve historiography, and three are rhetorical excercises. Also included
are documents relating to Nanni da Viterbo, the Canary Islands, and natural science (including many references to the French
naturalist Buffon), and copies of letters from two Spanish kings concerning legal, religious, and political topics.
