Primarily papers of Ygnacio del Valle, with some papers also of members of his family (his father, Antonio; his son, Reginaldo;
his son-in-law, John F. Forster; his wife, Ysabel; and his wife's grandfather, Antonio Ygnacio Avila)
The papers include letters, accounts, legal and financial documents, wills, invitations, pamphlets and documents, wills, invitations,
pamphlets and miscellaneous printed material. They relate mainly to the family's land holdings (Rancho San Francisco and Rancho
Camulos) and litigation over ownership before the U.S. Board of Land Commissioners; the purchase and sale of cattle; business
and family affairs; the various appointive and elective positions held by members of the family; their support of the Democratic
Party. Some papers pertain to Reginaldo del Valle's political career as state legislator.
