Abstract:

15 typescript carbon letters (TL), mainly between Uintah and Ouray Indian Agency officials, Fort Duchesne, Utah, and the U.S. Commissioner of Indian Affairs, Washington, D.C., concerning a dispute between Special Agent F. A. Baker and Superviser in Charge, Jewell D. Martin, about each other's behavior and jurisdiction of authority, stemming from the issue of dancing at the local school and agency. The Uintah-Ouray Reservation, in eastern Utah, today is the home of nearly 3,000 members of the Northern Ute Tribe. .05 linear feet (1 folder). OAC and cat. req. 11/12/03.
