Title:San Juan Del Rio church records, 1787-1889 (bulk 1810-1880)
Contains records of church rights, finances, and the Archconfradia de Santisimo Sacramento. The church rights records include
baptism, marriage and burial documents. The financial records include lists of charitable funds, account books of the Parish,
Sanctuary and Chapel, statements of vicars monthly stipends and loans given by the church. The Archconfraternity records relate
to their property holdings including donations, inventories, and statements of production and earnings. Other church documents
include correspondence, visitations by officers of the Holy Inquisition, the removal of criminals from asylum of the church
in response to the Royal Decree of Mar. 15, 1787, and construction projects. Correspondence includes letters from the Archbishop
of Mexico and references to an epidemic of smallpox, vaccination of children and the girls' school.
