Abstract:

Letters and other material written by, addressed to, or concerning the Jesuit missionary Segesser. Incudes many letters from Segesser to his mother, or his brother Fran├žois Joseph, Councilor of State in Lucerne; several from the latter; correspondence of fellow Jesuits and other persons, notably, Juan Felipe de Anza, brother of the explorer Juan Bautista; Segesser's profession upon entering the Society of Jesus; the document transferring his possessions to the Jesuits; lists of supplies received or requested for missions; and addresses of correspondents.
