Born in Idaho. Journalist, working for several newspapers in the west, and with the United Press. Director of Publicity for the California State Chamber of Commerce; executive secretary for the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. President of the San Francisco Press Club and and Union League Club. Member, Association of Catholic Newsmen in San Francisco. In 1942 Captain Philip J. Sinnott was employed by the Public Relations Branch of the Western Defense Command's Wartime Civil Control Administration.
