Note:
The Plantin Press was established by Saul and Lillian Marks in Los Angeles in 1931. Saul Marks had learned the printing trade
in his native Poland, and emigrated to the United States in 1931. The Plantin Press remained a small operation so that each
project could receive proper attention and care, resulting in high quality fine printing. Saul died on November 27, 1974,
and Lillian continued to operate the Plantin Press until its sale in 1985.
