Note:
Omer Call Stewart received a Ph.D. in anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1939. After serving in the
United States Army during WWII, Stewart joined the faculty at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Stewart's main area of
study were Indians of the Great Basin, especially the Utes, Northern Paiutes, and Washo, the Native American Church and peyote.
