Per accompanying notes by a Camron family member, baskets were in family's possession during their 1849 overland trip to California. This claim refuted by Ira Jacknis. They were likely acquired in California by Alice Frances Marsh Camron, her husband William Walker Camron, or another Camron or Marsh family member.
