Professional views chiefly of sites, artifacts, and art from antiquity, and also scenic views of towns and countryside. These photographs appear to have been issued in souvenir albums or collected and compiled into portfolios. Contents, by volume: v. 1: Italian subjects, chiefly by G. Sommer -- v.2: Italian subjects, by Paolo Lombardi, Sommer, and Alinari -- v.3 sites in Greece (Athens and Mycenae) and unidentified Mediterranean locales -- v.4: sites in Turkey (including a panorama of Costantinople) and perhaps other locations, as well as sculpture and portraits of cultural "types" v.5: Pompei [sic], photographed by Sommer -- v.6: Pompei -- v.7: Pompei -- v. 8: Pompei -- v. 9: Napoli, photographed by Sommer.

Photographs by Giorgio Sommer (Naples), with many by Paolo Lombardi (Siena), and several by Alinari, Sébah & Joaillier, and various unidentified photographers.
v.1-v.4 are unbound mounted prints in four portfolios, with cover titles: Photographies 1-4. Each bears the bookplate of Aug. Lambiotte, suggesting they were assembled by him.
Portfolios (v.1-4) include several multi-part panoramas.
All bound in red or orange cloth, with cover titles in gold.
Many views uncaptioned and unidentified.
