Interviews with the second wife of Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, including discussion of his life, her family and early years in Louisiana, work in Huey P. Long's administration, marriage to C. Girard Davidson (an official with the Bonneville Power Administration and Assistant Secretary of Interior in the Truman Administration), divorce and subsequent marriage to William O. Douglas, Helen Gahagan Douglas (California Congresswoman and wife of Melvyn Douglas), and other topics. Interviewer: David E. Russell, [1990?], 2000. Interviewee(s): Mercedes Eichholz, Charles Rick.. Asked DR 12/16/05 about copies for Main and Spec.; none listed in Pegasus as of 5/12/11. DER may not have finished this; ME mentioned something about unfinished nature at reception ca. 2009 and DER said something about ME not having vetted latest version of transcript, which she had had for some time. Ask DER. A copy of what looks like a finished oh, with title above, is located on oral history section of the S Drive (seen 3/11/13).
