Abstract:
Publicity photographs of politicians at diplomatic events, meetings, campaigns, speeches. Also includes studio portraits.
Later additions include photograph albums (cartons 2-3 and box 1) and oversize folders chiefly containing news agency and
other professional photographs pertaining to Kuchel's political activities and associates. Objects (carton 4) include several
pens used by President Lyndon B. Johnson to sign various Congressional bills; medallions; paperweights; cuff links; and keys.
Also includes a symbolic Republican Party whip mounted on a wooden panel (stored on FR rack).

Thomas H. Kuchel served as a member of the California Assembly, 1937-1940; in the California Senate, 1940-1946; and as controller
for the State of California, 1946-1953. He served as a United States Senator from California from 1953-1969. He was assistant
Republican leader in 1959 and 1960, and his committee service included Appropriations and Interior and Insular affairs.
