Abstract:

Interviews relate to agricultural organizing in California in the 1930's, the Cannery & Agricultural Workers' Industrial Union, strikes, and related topics. Interviews with: Pat Chambers; Caroline Decker Gladstein on the Communist Party and Trade Union Unity Leage; Dorothy Ray Healy on Young Communist League; Frank Spector on International Labor Defense in the Imperial Valley 1930 strike, the Communist Party, and San Quentin Prison; Alfred J. Tapson on life in Corcoran, Calif. after the cotton strike, farm worker housing, the Boswell family; and with Jack Warnick on the Communist Party role in organizing the Cannery and Agricultural Workers' Union.
