Abstract:
Correspondence, envelopes, photographs, post cards, and ephemera of an ordnance officer serving in Europe during World War
II. Correspondence is addressed to his sister Lucy Lathrop Boggs of Berkeley, Calif. from a variety of locations, mostly overseas,
including England and Paris, France. Some correspondence is marked with censor stamps. Includes official War Dept. stationery
containing "V-Mail" [i.e. Victory Mail] letters. Photographs (14, b&w) include a portrait photograph of Lathrop in uniform,
a victory parade in Paris, France, and snapshots with other soldiers at Paris landmarks. Also includes insignia uniform patches
of the Royal Air Force, an unidentified wing unit, paratroopers, and commandos.
