Contains typescript copies and drafts of several plays, screenplays, novels, television scripts, speeches, and articles written
by Dorothy Baker and Howard Baker working alone and as partners. Includes a signed rejection letter from Elia Kazan on his
letterhead stationery with the submission copy of "Little Orpheus." Includes correspondence of Dorothy Baker with Louise O'Brien
Stoll and Mildred J. Stewart, two small photographs of Dorothy Baker, clippings and miscellany. Also includes two copies of
a screenplay by Fletcher Markle titled, "The Lonely Summer" based on Dorothy Parker's novel, "The Gifted Son." Also includes
materials (1 folder) concerning the exhibition and use of paintings by Bertha S. Baker, Howard Baker's mother. They include
a biography of Bertha S. Baker by Howard Baker, correspondence with Look magazine editors and California Palace of Fine Arts
curators, 10 photographs (b&w, 8 x 9 in.) of the exhibited works, and a handwritten list of 25 of her works.
