Abstract:

Includes 8 x 10 and 4 x 5 original prints of Martin's commercial male physique photography. Among the models are several noteworthy bodybuilders of the time, including Mike Sill, Bud Counts, Ray Routledge, Ken Dockter, Norman Tousley, Al Endriss, Zaro Rossi, Walt Needham, Reed Phippen, Paul Duerner, Sandy Alcorn (Sanford Alcorn), as well as professional wrestler Gene Stanlee. Also includes photographically printed "index catalog" sheets of Martin's commercial physique photography. Mounted commercial western views depict the Grand Canyon, San Francisco and Oakland. Also includes "catalog" prints for these views, published by the Western Pictorial Guild (one bearing Martin's seal); photomechanically reproduced views of Yosemite Valley (photographer/source unknown) ; and a portrait of Bill Swan inscribed by the sitter.
