Abstract:
This small collection consists of assorted postcards depicting Scottish entertainer Sir Harry Lauder (1870-1950), best known
for his humorous songs sung in Scottish brogue, recording for most of the major recording companies including the Gramophone
Co., The Victor Talking Machine Co., Pathé and Edison. The collection also includes one double sided handwritten manuscript
page of poetry by Lauder, artifacts, and published sheet music. These items accompany the over 400 Lauder recordings donated
by discographer Darrell Baker. The record cylinders and discs have been integrated into the Performing Arts division of the
UCSB Library Special Collections department.
