Photo album with 33 B+W photos. This is most likley the S.S. Yorck, a steamship built in 1906 by F. Schichau Shipyard, Danzig,
Germany for Norddeutscher Lloyd (North German Lloyd), for the Bremerhaven to New York service. Under the command of Captain
M. Miltzaff, the ship made a voyage from Bremerhaven in Northern Germany to Havana Cuba and other locales in the area in 1920
which this album records. The Yorck was launched April 10, 1906.Its maiden voyage was on November 23, 1906. It was used as
a German hospital ship, 1914-1915; laid up 1915-1919 and resumed service in 1922. Scrapped in Elbing in 1933. Additional details

Bremerhaven nach Havanna, Kuba (Cuba) 33 Orig.Photographien ~ Album in Querformat ca. 24x16,5cm, aus dickem Papier mit Kordelbindung,
enthaltend 16 dünne Kartonblätter mit vorder - und rückseitig leicht eingeklebten 33 Orig.Photos im Format 12x18cm, sämtliche
Fotos mit handschriftlichen Untertiteln. Im einzelnen zeigen die Fotos z.B.: die Schiffsoffiziere: W. Uthe, IV. Offizier,
K. Homan, I. Offizier, Kapitän Milltzlaff, Y. Schade, II. Offizier, E. Bieck, II. Offizierdavon, H. Hipperling, II. Funkoffizier,
R. Züllsdorf, Oberkoch, und andere Besatzungsmitglieder. Dampfer York in Bremerhaven. Vigo (2x), Gijon (2x, mit Hafen), La
Coruna (2x), Dampfer Yorck in Vigo, Straße in Vigo (2x), dann folgen 21 Fotos von Havanna (Habana): Einfahrt in Habana (2x),
Verbrüderungsplatz, Ruine, diverse Plätze mit Automobilverkehr, Tropical-Garten, diverse Straßenansichten, Main-Denkmal, Regierungsgebäude,
El Prato, Plantagen, Knochen- Garten, Friedhof. - Die Fotos wurden offenbar vom Photographen B. Nicolaysen angefertigt und
sind alle nur leicht eingeklebt. - Der Album-Einband ist leicht angerändert, innen aber ist alles gut erhalten. (Karibik /
Mittel-Amerika / Westindishe Inseln / Carabian Islands / West-Indies).
