Abstract:

This small collection consists of assorted postcards depicting Scottish entertainer Sir Harry Lauder (1870-1950), best known for his humorous songs sung in Scottish brogue, recording for most of the major recording companies including the Gramophone Co., The Victor Talking Machine Co., Pathé and Edison. The collection also includes one double sided handwritten manuscript page of poetry by Lauder, artifacts, and published sheet music. These items accompany the over 400 Lauder recordings donated by discographer Darrell Baker.
