Posters issued to promote the Summer of Love 40th Anniversary event held on September 2, 2007 in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco,
Calif. Subject matter and design elements are reminiscent of the psychedelic rock concert posters of the 1960s. Many posters
illustrate the "Gathering of the Tribes" motif, depicting Native Americans or aspects of Native American culture. Others depict
hippies and such rock musicians as Janis Joplin and Jerry Garcia.
