Abstract:
The collections consists of three folders: two folders contain a memoir by Sara Brenner describing her experiences growing
up in Austrian Galicia, World War I, and her emigration to Canada and the U.S. The third folder contains eight photographs
of Sara, members of her family, including Jack and two of her sons, and the family store.

Sara Prager was born in the part of Galicia that was in the Austro-Hungarian empire. She emigrated from there to Toronto at
the age of seventeen. She married Karl Gendrich, and they moved to Portland and Eugene, Ore. After Gendrich died, she married
Jack Brenner. They became owners of Brenner's Furniture, a store formerly known as the Eugene Bargain Store.
