Journal kept while commanding the Third Ohio Infantry, chiefly on occupation duty at Matamoros, Camargo and Saltillo, 1846-1847. Some correspondence, including drafts of letters to General Taylor and President Polk and letters from General Wool. Drafts of rules for the military government of Coahuila and of a speech against disunion prepared while Congressman from Iowa. Clippings.
