Abstract:

"Burros" shows a burro trip in the Sierra Nevada led by Milton Hildebrand (includes many photos of Hildebrand); "Misc. Trips" shows rocks, desert scenes, mountain climbing, wildlife, and views of Southern California; "Glacier Park" includes photos of equipment, maps, signs, meals, plants, glaciers, bathing, and clippings relating to Sierra Club first ascents made during the trip; "Sierra Club and Misc" shows the Grand Canyon and outings in California; "Sierra Club" shows club outdoor activities but also weddings, picnics, beach scenes, and other types of views.

They include photos of maps, trip announcements, equipment, as well as extensive captions (some in the form of limericks) and illustrations. David Brower termed the "Glacier" album the "prototype of exhibit format books."
