Raphael M. Robinson papers, BANC MSS 99/264 c, The Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley.
Born in National City, Calif. on Nov. 2, 1911. Robinson received his B.A. (1932), M.A. (1933), and his Ph.D. (1935) degree from UC Berkeley, and joined the mathematics faculty as an instructor in 1937, becoming a full Professor in 1949. He retired in 1973 and served as Emeritus Professor until his death on Jan. 27, 1995.
